Some teach practical, personal skills to high school students such as managing a checking account and using credit cards wisely. Others involve entire middle school classes in projects like a mock election. Some give demonstrations using musical instruments or scientific equipment. You can read a book; share an educational experience or your career; talk about a favorite vacation, hobby, or how a special teacher touched your life. Whatever your skills, no matter your topic, there is a classroom of students waiting to hear from you!

Teach-In engages the business community in educational excellence, and helps to prepare students for the future. Each year on the third Wednesday in November, in celebration of American Education Week, the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools brings business and civic leaders into the classrooms in a fun and engaging way to talk with students about academics, careers and the future. Since Teach-In began in 1991, it has brought thousands of volunteer speakers into classrooms each year. This personal interaction has proven to be an invaluable learning opportunity for students and, for business people, a way to help prepare and nurture the future workforce.
